Bring a friend night

May 25th 2010 @ 7:30 - 9:30pm
Yeats' Suite, Glasshouse Hotel, Sligo

We want to talk about our noisiest networking event yet...and to suggest what you can do to make sure it is.  Simply this, ask someone to come with you.  That way, by the end of the evening new people will know about you and your business.

Need to let them know what to expect?  Here's our plan...

7.30pm We welcome you and we have a few announcements to make

7.50pm You introduce yourself, your business and the person you've brought to the whole room

8.20pm We'll review your priorities by examining responses to the questionnaire

8.50pm Tea / Coffee - a chance to chat: networking activity 1

9.00pm Group brainstorming: networking activity 2

9.30pm Finish

The response to the questionnaire we sent out last week has been terrific so thank you.  For those of you who have put it firmly in their 'to do' pile - can you do it now, please!  (finishes 9.30am on monday).

We look forward to seeing you next week - Tuesday 25th, at The Glasshouse Hotel.

About the Network of Ambassadors for Female Entrepreneurship

April 27th 2010 @ 7:30 - 9:30pm
Yeats' Suite, Glasshouse Hotel, Sligo

Our speaker in April will be Judy Green of Judy Green Pottery in Galway. Judy is one of the ten Irish Ambassadors for Female Entrepreneurship who were appointed in 2009.

The European Commission issued a call in 2009 to establish an EU Network of Ambassadors for Female Entrepreneurship to be operated by the Enterprise Europe Network .The aim of establishing this network of Female Entrepreneurship Ambassadors is to boost the rate of female entrepreneurial activity across the EU. The network of Ambassadors should inspire women to become entrepreneurs and to set up their own business. The Ambassadors help to raise the confidence in setting up and creating successful businesses. They are also role models to inspire other women to become entrepreneurs by “telling their story”.

Responding to the call from the European Commission, members of the Irish Enterprise Europe Network submitted an application to establish the Irish Network of Ambassadors for Female Entrepreneurship. The application was led by Galway Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Dublin Chamber of Commerce and Cork Chamber of Commerce.

Each of the partners issued regional calls to local business women to apply for the position of Female Entrepreneurship Ambassador. Following a selection process, a total of 10 Ambassadors were nominated in Ireland and recommended to the European Commission for inauguration. The 10 Irish Ambassadors join an EU wide network of over 120 successful European businesswomen who will kick off the campaign to encourage more women to become entrepreneurs and start their own businesses.

The EU Network of Ambassadors for Female Entrepreneurship were formally appointed on 5th October by Commissioner Vladimir Spidla at an inauguration event organised by the European Commission in collaboration with the Swedish Presidency of the EU in Stockholm, Sweden. The Ambassadors received their diplomas by HRH, the Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden who supported the event.
